Our expertise means we can use these ingredients at levels even lower than is legally defined, in order to further reduce the risk of allergic reactions.
If you know that you, or someone in your family, is sensitive or allergic to a particular substance, these web pages will help you avoid products that contain it and choose something else instead.
If you should experience any adverse effect with any product – whether it is a household product, or a cosmetic or personal care product, or even food – the advice is always to stop using the product immediately. Problems related to allergy are usually entirely reversible. If you are in doubt about an allergy, contact your doctor who can help you identify if you are allergic to a particular ingredient, and you can then take steps to avoid that ingredient.
Preservatives
When you buy a product, you have high expectations of quality. For MIRACLE DREAMS Group, this means that any product has to be both effective and safe to use for the entire time that it stays in the home. To ensure this quality over time, preservatives are often required. We follow strict guidelines regarding product quality, meaning that spoilage is highly unlikely in our products.
Preservatives rely on their chemical reactivity to work – and it is this chemical reactivity that gives some the potential to cause a reaction in people who are allergic to them.
Our risk assessment approach determines maximum levels that are acceptable for each preservative. Careful combining of these ingredients in a formulation allows us to use extremely low levels of each single preservative while still being sure about the quality and safety of a product.
Fragrances
All our research shows an overwhelming demand for fragranced products. We know that perfume gives a product important characteristics, and can reassure users that the product is really working – for example, many people love perfumed fabric softeners to complement the clean smell of newly washed clothes.
However, a very small number of people show sensitivity or an allergic reaction to some fragrance ingredients, both natural oils and synthetic compounds. We limit the compounds we use even more tightly than is required by the regulations: of some 2,500 that are permissible to use, we only select from about 500 to create our fragrances. As with all our ingredients, fragrances undergo risk assessments to establish safe levels for use in our products to minimize adverse reactions to fragrances.
